The Venetian Food Tour is the best way to uncover the soul of this unique city. Through our Bacaro Tour, you’ll explore the city’s traditional taverns and dive into the most authentic and entertaining culinary traditions of Veneto. The bacari are Venice’s iconic wine bars — simple, cozy osterie where the aromas of freshly prepared dishes fill the air and create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Join us for a stroll through the Cannaregio district and experience the city like a true Venetian! Enjoy the local ritual of the aperitivo, sipping wine and tasting a variety of delicious “cicchetti” (Venetian tapas) along the canalside, surrounded by laughter and good company. After a long day, aperitivo time is a must across Italy — but only in Venice can you enjoy the real Spritz and cicchetti: meatballs, seafood bites, vegetable dishes, toasted bread with toppings, skewers, and many other mouthwatering specialties. What are you waiting for? Join our Venetian Food Tour and live the experience yourself! What you’ll taste along the way: Spritz – The symbol of the Venetian aperitivo! The name comes from the Austrian word spritzen (“to spray”), referring to the old habit of diluting wine with sparkling water. The version we know today was born in the 1920s, when Aperol was added to the mix, giving it its signature sweet and refreshing taste. Prosecco – Locally produced and of the highest quality, Prosecco is the perfect companion for both relaxation and celebration — and it tastes even better when shared! Crostini – Toasted bread topped or filled with the best ingredients of the region: sarde in saor (sardines with caramelized onions, vinegar, pine nuts, and raisins), local cold cuts, truffle cheese spread, vegetable patties, and mixed fried bites. Hot Dishes – Taste traditional Venetian specialties such as risotto, mozzarella in carrozza, baccalà mantecato (creamed cod), and parmigiana di melanzane (eggplant with tomato sauce, mozzarella, and basil). Espresso & Chocolate – End your tour on a sweet note with one of Venice’s finest espressos, paired with handmade chocolates at one of the city’s most beloved pastry shops. Children under 5 years old join for free. Kids aged 6 to 12 receive a 50% discount. Guests must be at least 18 years old to consume alcoholic beverages.
